Spain has the strongest national squad in eFootball by the game data dated March 2026: its best XI averages 95.8 Overall, just ahead of Brazil (95.7), France (95.6) and England (95.5). There is no national chemistry in eFootball, so a one-country squad gets no stat bonus; this ranking is purely about player ratings.
How Nationality Really Works in eFootball
Older guides promise Team Spirit and nationality links. Konami's official guide has neither. Here is where a player's country does and does not matter.
No chemistry bonus
There is no nationality link, club link, Team Spirit or manager-nationality bonus. What changes ratings in your Game Plan is the Team Playstyle and your manager's proficiency in it.
Authentic Team
You can pick a real club or national team and play it against the AI in Exhibition, or with friends in Friend Match (official overview).
Rules, not bonuses
Events can reward squads that fit their theme, and Custom Tournaments (v6.0.0) can restrict players to certain countries or regions. Then you need eligible players, but you still get no stat boost.

Ranked by the average Overall of each nation's best XI in the eFootball game data, March 2026. Click a player for his full ratings, or a country for every player from that nation.

Konami does not publish a fixed GP multiplier for national teams. Its overview says that signing players who are compatible with an Event's theme gives you an advantage in that Event, so check each Event's rules in-game.
Which manager should I use for a national squad?
Choose the manager by Team Playstyle proficiency, not nationality. Konami says players' Overall Ratings in the Game Plan can drop if the manager has low proficiency for the selected playstyle. A Spanish squad does not need a Spanish manager.
Can I play a tournament with only players from one country?
Yes, through Custom Tournament, added in v6.0.0. A host can create a knock-out tournament for up to 8 players and restrict eligible players to specific leagues, clubs, countries or regions.
