The Road to
Division 1
Division 1 is the top of eFootball League, the game's ranked mode with 10 Divisions and Phases of about 28 days. You climb by winning matches, and each new Phase starts you lower depending on your best Division (reaching Division 1 means you restart in Division 3). Reaching Division 1 earns its First-Time Promotion Reward and the Phase Reward for Division 1; Ranking Rewards depend on your final Ranking.
How eFootball League Works
Konami describes eFootball League as PvP and VS AI matches in a league with a division-based structure: climb the ladder and earn greater rewards. There are two categories, PvP and VS AI, and Divisions run from 10 at the bottom to 1 at the top.
The season is split into Phases. Each Phase lasts about 28 days, and the next one begins immediately after. At the end of a Phase you receive rewards based on the highest Division you reached, then Rankings and Ratings are reset. Your starting Division in the new Phase depends on your highest Division reached, as in Konami's table below.
If you came here looking for a Weekend League: that is an EA Sports FC mode. eFootball League is the eFootball equivalent.
| Highest Division reached | Starting Division next Phase |
|---|---|
| Division 1 | Division 3 |
| Division 2 | Division 4 |
| Division 3 | Division 5 |
| Division 4 | Division 6 |
| Division 5 | Division 7 |
| Division 6 | Division 8 |
| Division 7 | Division 9 |
| Division 8 | Division 9 |
| Division 9 | Division 9 |
| Division 10 | Division 10 |

Division Rewards: The Three Official Types
Konami lists three reward types for eFootball League. The exact items are shown in game and can change between Phases, so we do not list them here. Rewards arrive in your Inbox.
Earned by promoting to a Division for the first time. When a new Phase begins, you can earn all First-Time Promotion Rewards for the Divisions below your starting Division.
Earned at the end of a Phase according to the highest Division you reached in that Phase. Reaching Division 1 at any point in the Phase counts.
Earned at the end of a Phase according to your final Ranking. Rankings and Ratings are reset before the next Phase begins.
What this means in practice: at the start of a new Phase you can collect the First-Time Promotion Rewards for every Division below your starting Division, so restarting lower does not cost you those. Because your Phase Reward depends on the highest Division reached, not where you finish, a late losing run does not take Division 1 Phase Rewards away once you have got there. To check last Phase's ranking, go to [Home] > [Match] > [eFootball League] > [PvP Category] > [Ranking] > [Change Filter] > [Previous Phase] > [My Ranking].
Practical Tips for Climbing to Division 1
There is no published points table or win rate for promotion, so these tips focus on what you can control. Each one is based on Konami's own guidance or the v6.0.0 update notes.
Match your manager to your Team Playstyle
Konami recommends a manager with high proficiency in your chosen Team Playstyle, and its FAQ notes that low proficiency can lower your players' Overall Ratings in the Game Plan. Choose from Possession Game, Quick Counter, Long Ball Counter, Out Wide, Long Ball or the new Overload, and check that your rated players hold their numbers in the Game Plan.
Use the v6.0.0 Game Plan tools
Fluid Formation sets separate attacking and defensive shapes. Players can now have Attacking and Defensive Playing Styles. If your manager has Link-up Plays, "Auto-pick players" with "By Stats/Link-up Play" can arrange the lineup to meet their activation conditions. Substitutes now appear in your opponent's Game Plan, so check it before kick-off.
Develop the players you use
Level your starters through matches or Level Training Programs, then spend Progression Points (resettable any time). Add Additional Skills with Skill Training Programs and use Position Training where a player covers a second role. A developed squad you know well usually beats a stronger one you have not trained.
Fix your connection before ranked matches
eFootball League uses the client-server method. Konami's own tips: close background apps, avoid heavy downloads on the same Wi-Fi, stay close to the access point on mobile, and use wired LAN on console. Watch the antenna icon and the network graph after each match.
Push early in the Phase. Everyone restarts below their best when a Phase begins, and the Phase lasts about 28 days. Starting your climb early leaves time to recover from a bad run.
Treat VS AI matches seriously. Since v6.0.0, quitting an ongoing match in the VS AI category counts as a loss, and VS AI matches cannot be forfeited. Only start one when you can finish it. On mobile, Konami notes that controllers are not supported in VS AI matches played in the lower Divisions of the PvP category.
Stop when you are tilting. Losing streaks often come from playing tired or frustrated. Take a break, think about how you conceded, and come back with a clear plan. If you are losing a lot, our guide to why you keep losing and the match-winning guide go deeper.
What About Team Strength?
Konami does not set a team strength requirement for any Division. A stronger squad helps, but the Overall Ratings you see in the Game Plan also depend on your manager's proficiency in the Team Playstyle you pick, so a well-matched setup can matter as much as raw ratings.
For a real-world reference, the accounts listed on eFootball Market in October 2026 had team strength between 2,000 and 3,308, with a median of 3,188. Be wary of any guide that quotes 4,000 or 5,000 team strength targets; those figures do not match real accounts. See eFootball account prices for the live, daily-updated numbers.
Want a Stronger Squad to Climb With?
Browse accounts by team strength. As of October 2026 the median asking price was $100. Your payment is held in escrow until you confirm the account matches the listing, and disputes are reviewed by an admin. We do not check an account's Division, and buying accounts is against Konami's Terms of Use.
Escrow protects your money, not the account's standing with Konami.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Divisions are there in eFootball League?
There are 10 Divisions. Division 10 is the lowest and Division 1 is the highest. eFootball League has a PvP category and a VS AI category, and the season is split into Phases of about 28 days each.
Why did I drop Divisions at the start of a new Phase?
Your starting Division in a new Phase depends on the highest Division you reached in the previous one. Reaching Division 1 means you start the next Phase in Division 3, Division 2 starts you in Division 4, and so on down to Divisions 7 to 9, which all start you in Division 9. Division 10 starts you in Division 10.
What rewards do you get in eFootball League?
There are three types. First-Time Promotion Rewards are earned the first time you are promoted to a Division. Phase Rewards are given at the end of a Phase according to the highest Division you reached. Ranking Rewards are given at the end of a Phase according to your final Ranking. The exact items are shown in game and can change between Phases.
Is there a Weekend League in eFootball?
No. Weekend League is an EA Sports FC mode. eFootball's ranked mode is eFootball League, with Divisions 1 to 10 and Phases of about 28 days. eFootball also has Events, including PvP and Ranking Events, and user-hosted Custom Tournaments added in v6.0.0.
What team strength do you need for Division 1?
Konami does not publish a team strength requirement for any Division, so promotion comes from results, not a number. For context, accounts listed on eFootball Market in October 2026 had team strength between 2,000 and 3,308, with a median of 3,188. Tactics, a suitable manager and match skill matter as much as the squad.
Where can I see my Ranking Rewards from last Phase?
Ranking Rewards are based on your ranking in the previous Phase. Konami's FAQ gives the path: [Home] > [Match] > [eFootball League] > [PvP Category] > [Ranking] > [Change Filter] > [Previous Phase] > [My Ranking]. Rewards are sent to your Inbox.
What happens if I quit a VS AI League match?
Since v6.0.0, exiting an ongoing match in the eFootball League VS AI category is treated as a loss. VS AI matches also cannot be forfeited from the pause menu, so only start one when you can finish it.
